Great product and great company to work with. I at first ordered the TSP143U which is a USB Printer to work with a Tablet to set up a POS system at my business. Once I got it, I realized that if I had the printer plugged into the tablet there was no additional port to then charge the tablet. I contacted the company and they gladly accepted my return and let me reorder this LAN Printer. I highly recommend this vendor and their product.
Designed to work with today’s market leading operating systems – Android, iOS, Linux, Mac OS & Windows, this printer will have a dramatic impact on the retail environment and enhance Star’s leading position in the mPOS as well as traditional POS marketplaces.
Dust protected and splash-proof resistant (IP54Certified), the SM-T300i is rugged enough for outside field workers requiring handhelds to seamlessly print from a mobile device to a durable portable mobile receipt printer. The SM-T300i also allows for restaurant servers and clerks working in demanding retail and hospitality environments to print standard three inch format receipts wherever they need to. Its rugged and splash proof design combined with standard three inch receipt printing and a long battery life make the SM-T300i a welcomed option.

The printer is fine but bluetooth connectivity has been an incredible challenge. We have probably wasted 20 hours wrestling with it in the few weeks we have had it. The Starprint utility can say it is not connected when it is … and vice versa. The Bluetooth says it is not connected yet we can print a receipt from the register. The delay communicating via bluetooth means we have to leave a key in teh till drawer rather than wait for it to eventually open even though we have adjusted the utility and timing. So, while the printer is fine, don’t go bluetooth because you can’t use a cable even if you want to as there’s no socket …. just bluetooth ! So, buy a cable printer version and be happier !
I need to print 2 copies of our receipts. This printer does not allow you to change those settings. I was told the “lower end” models dont allow you to. I did not realize I was purchasing a “lower end” printer.
SM-T300i includes the ability to print receipts or data from a web browser-based application running on a mobile device wirelessly by configuring Star’s WebPRNT Browser. Once configured, the user simply pairs their mobile device to the SM-T300i, open the application on WebPRNT Browser and prints from the application.
I just purchased a Square Stand yesterday and am new to this, but am having a similar issue. My Stand (for ipad Air) will charge my ipad and the ipad recognizes the stand, but the Register app won’t recognize that the stand is connected and it won’t read cards. Trying to decide whether to return it immediately. Is it defective or am I doing something wrong?
Overall, seems to be a decent printer to use with an iPad-based point of sale system. However, after about 3 weeks, the printer stopped cutting the receipts & went into an error mode that the owner’s manual said was “non-recoverable”. I contacted Star Micronics customer service & shipped to their repair facility. They got it back to me within 3-4 days & everything was covered under the warranty, minus the cost to ship the printer to them. So far, it seems to be working as expected since I got it back from being repaired. Perhaps I just got a bad one that came off the assembly line & somehow managed to slip through quality control.
With included internal power supply, power cables, complete mounting kits, and paper roll, the TSP100III is the perfect printer for any mPOS bundle. Square, that small white magnetic stripe card reader you see all over on iPads and smartphones, can make it easy to turn your smartphone or tablet into a portable point of sale station. Figuring out everything you need to set it up and use it, however, can be confusing. In this Square for Android Basics article, we talk about everything you need to know about using Square with an Android device. We’ll go over:
The Star SP742 combines ease of use, high speed, reliability, an auto-cutter and a compact footprint to provide a value-driven solution. I’ve purchased several of these at various times for use with Square POS systems, haven’t had any problem with any of them. Our owner was very happy that it’s able to print our graphic logo on the receipts.

But my point is that an adding machine paper-receipt looks unprofessional in some businesses.  An inexpensive ink jet or better, a multitasking network office printer that is already in use would make a LOT more sense for me.  I’m sure they are robust and work fine, they just don’t suit my business and I don’t like being so limited in the TYPE of printer I can use.

I’m not sure why there are so many mixed up reviews and answers to the questions. I have two iPad without a square stand. This easily connected to my cash drawer and WiFi router. BOTH iPads are connected to the receipt printer and BOTH can print at the same time as well as open up my cash drawer. The receipt are thick enough to read and make orders off of and the font size is nice. If you take orders with your iPad but do not have a square stand and need a printer that will connect to multiply iPads this is what you are looking for!!
I don’t have drivers, etc for them but I can provide SDKs and I know that the POS-X Ion driver will work nicely in Windows 7. Other than that, you’re on your own, but I don’t think you’ll have that mu…
