To print on large-size paper with some near-dedicated photo printers, you have to feed a single sheet from the front, after which the printer loads it by feeding it all the way out of a back slot on the printer, and then prints while moving the paper forward again. If you don’t have enough free flat space for this approach to printing, look for a printer that can handle roll paper, can feed large-size cut sheets from a standard tray, or both.

Most manufacturers don’t rate the duty cycle for these printers. That’s as inexcusable as a car manufacturer not telling you how often to change your oil, but, for now at least, it’s what you have to live with. The rule of thumb for these printers is: If you’ll be printing enough so you’re concerned about the duty cycle, and the manufacturer doesn’t rate the duty cycle, don’t buy the printer. You may need to look instead for printers aimed strictly at professional photographers and retail stores.

Installed last night and works perfectly with my Apple IOS POS system. One thing that is great is it comes with the software to change the printer IP address. When you have several POS printers this make life easier. Works with NEC, STAR and Espon drivers
The WiFi Power Pack is designed to make any Star LAN interface printer “wireless”. Powered by the printer’s cash drawer kick port, the WiFi Power Pack avoids additional power outlet, eliminating the possibility of tangled cables. The WiFi Power Pack includes a DK-USB power module and a TP Link wireless router
If you are using DHCP (If a fixed IP address is not set), then connect a LAN cable to simply complete the connection. By specifying the IP address output by self-printing, print settings can be configured.
The only troubleshooting I had to do after, occurred after a Windows update. The port the 2nd starmicronics entry in Printers and Devices had changed port numbers. I just repeated step 6 and then made the 2nd starmicronics entry in printers and devices match that of the entry that is auto installed when you pair the printer the first time and I was golden. I’ve rebooted numerous times since then and it has retained the port.
Amongst the most popular of Epson products is the TM-T88V receipt printer. The bluetooth interface-enabled version of the TM-T88V is the C31CA85955. In the world of thermal receipt printing, the TM-T88V is an example of excellence beyond which you don’t need to look much further (if you have the budget for it).
The simple “drop-In and print” paper loading (whether the printer’s on the counter or on your belt), along with the long-lasting battery life up to 13 hours and automatic sleep mode for extended battery life all help keep your point-of-sale transactions running smoothly without interruption.
The Kitchen Buzzer is designed to connect directly the the RJ11 port on the back of the printer. When a print job is sent to the TSP100, the buzzer will sound off. This is beneficial for high noise environmentslike kitchens to alert cooks that orders have been sent to them.
These printers aesthetically match up really well with a mobile type of set up. So if you’re using an iPad, a Surface tablet, you have a small stand and you’re using a very compact set-up with a very small cash drawer, then these are kind of designed to meet that look, and are very space-saving. The LED lights are also changed from like a traditional green to being a glowing blue, so much more modern looking receipt printers than you see traditionally. Interface-wise, these both have USB. They’re also available with Bluetooth or Ethernet, and then NFC is also in an available connection, at least coming soon to them.

Said Bluetooth in the description and it is not. Bought specificity for that feature. My business(restaurants) buys a lot of equipment like this and by the time I found out it’s not what was described I was unable to return. Will not purchase from this vendor again.
I do not recommend the paper Amazon recommends to purchase together as it is only 10 rolls for $9 and the rolls will usually complete only 30 orders. Purchase longer rolls for much cheaper. I have ordered some, the seller has assured me that it can hold rolls up to 2.25″ length and 1.8″ diameter. I will update my review of they do fit.

Purchased to use with Paypal swiper and app. This particular one is on Paypal’s approved list. I used it on an iphone and it paired quickly and it worked great. Prints really fast. When you pair it to the phone it takes you to the app store and shows you all the compatible apps.
Ultimately your choice hinges on what other devices you might be using your printer with and your budget, but you do have several options in terms of how the thing actually prints receipts. Like a normal printer, you get a few choices in this area – most receipt printers either use thermal printing, impact printing, or inkjet printing and each of these offers certain attributes.
The SP700 also supports Star’s cloudPRNT communication protocol that sends print jobs directly to the printer through the cloud. Star’s SP700cloudPRNT is specifically designed for accepting and printing online food orders in the kitchen where heat and humidity can erode the type on the printed order. This fast, two-color printer offers crisp, easy-to-read type for quick viewing, and will automatically print orders as they are placed through an online ordering application.
Any near-dedicated photo printer should offer output quality suitable for a professional photographer’s exhibition prints, but you should obviously check to make sure. Keep in mind too that different people have different tastes, so choosing between two or more printers with superb, but slightly different, output may depend entirely on which one you like better.

The Instant Customer Satisfaction Survey feature allows retailers to receive real-time feedback from customers. Hi – thanks for the info about Heckler.  We plan to order their stand for the mini iPad.  I understand that there is a square reader/swipe for $29 that plugs into the iPad.  We don’t need the touch less system at $49.  Am I correct and will it work fine with the iPad mounted into the Heckler holder?
Masung:Our printers can flexibly run on windows/linux/android OS,no matter you used serial or USB interface for your application. And we will offer ESC/POS commands manual,USB driver and SDK for your technical reference.

The device works great. Our only issue is in the description. The description states that it is for iOS/Windows/Android. However when the unit arrived it states iOS only. We probably would not have ordered it knowing that.
Not only does a receipt printer print those nice square receipts that tuck nicely into your clients’ wallets and make your business look more professional, but they can also save you real money and reduce impact on the environment pretty quickly.
The device is also quite easy to set up and use. It comes with a free downloadable Polaroid ZIP App which you can find in the app store. It’s also battery powered so you don’t always need to have it connected.
In addition, manual cash drawers will always work with your tablet, and we recommend using a manual cash drawer if you’re not using a receipt printer, or if you may not use a receipt printer in the future.
Every impact-based printer uses a ribbon to create receipts. These ribbons come in cartridge that fits into your specific printer. Many ribbons are available in black, purple, red, or a combination of black and red. Whatever the model, our wide selection of ribbons has one that fits your printer.
So in the scheme of “would we buy these printers?” it comes down to would we buy these instead of other Epson printers? I would probably recommend the T20II the most out of all the printers, I think for the price and features and warranty, the T20II is your best bet. If you are worried about space though, take a look at the M series, especially the M10, it’s very very small compared to older receipt printers. The styling on both of these are better than the T20II. If you’re looking for just pure performance, pure reliability, pure speed, the T88V is still your best bet. So that’s kind of the Epson overview of all their printers. Good printers, probably at this time not their best printers, but they are space saving options, and there are some unique pairing capabilities, so if you’re on a tablet or something like that and you don’t have a USB port, then take a look and see if a proper interface is available for you.
