The Star TSP143iiiU is a great value, USB thermal receipt printer. Connect to your Windows, Mac or uniquely your iOS device (iPad, iPhone) to print customer receipts with the included printer drivers.
To get the cost per photo for a dedicated photo printer, simply divide the cost of the print pack by the number of photos it will print. To get the total cost of ownership, multiply the cost per photo by the number of photos you expect to print over the printer’s lifetime, and then add the printer’s initial cost. This total is the best basis for comparing prices.
You’ll need to manually lighten or brighten the photos before printing as they print a little dark than what you’ll see on your phone. It takes some getting used to. Just revert the photo after you’re done printing.
In addition, manual cash drawers will always work with your tablet, and we recommend using a manual cash drawer if you’re not using a receipt printer, or if you may not use a receipt printer in the future.

If you’re considering a POS system to make it more convenient for your business to manage inventory and prices, you shouldn’t look any further. For the price, you can set up a fantastic FREE POS software with all the accessories such as the stand, receipt printer, cash drawer, barcode scanner, and EMV/chip reader for one upfront cost and not have to pay for your POS like some of these not so reputable POS sellers try to market to you. Even if you don’t use Square to process your cards (which is what Square truly wants you to do), the setup for a POS system with an iPad is second to none. The software gets constant updates, works flawlessly, and is FREE. I have no regrets about switching to the Square ecosystem for running my business and selling inventory. I occasionally use their card processing, but even if I didn’t, I’d still use the Square POS system and software. No regret here!

I got it for scrapbooking and a travel journal. Don’t expect high quality and res prints, it’s a tiny mobile printer after all. If you want high quality prints, mobile printers aren’t what you’re looking for. I did extensive research to compare between the Polaroid ZIP, Instax Share, HP Sprocket and Kodak and image quality, yellow/reddish vintage-like hues and lower res images seem to be the prevalent complaint. I settled on Polaroid because the app allowed collages and white frames for the polaroid effect. It seemed to have better options than the other apps.

I have a friend who runs a small shop and knew the Esky ES-CD01 Heavy Duty RJ-12 Key-Lock Cash Drawer would be perfect for his application. This drawer was a massive upgrade to the system he had been using. He had tried other drawers with different connections and designs, however this one was really the best.

The only troubleshooting I had to do after, occurred after a Windows update. The port the 2nd starmicronics entry in Printers and Devices had changed port numbers. I just repeated step 6 and then made the 2nd starmicronics entry in printers and devices match that of the entry that is auto installed when you pair the printer the first time and I was golden. I’ve rebooted numerous times since then and it has retained the port.
These printers aesthetically match up really well with a mobile type of set up. So if you’re using an iPad, a Surface tablet, you have a small stand and you’re using a very compact set-up with a very small cash drawer, then these are kind of designed to meet that look, and are very space-saving. The LED lights are also changed from like a traditional green to being a glowing blue, so much more modern looking receipt printers than you see traditionally. Interface-wise, these both have USB. They’re also available with Bluetooth or Ethernet, and then NFC is also in an available connection, at least coming soon to them.
Need a cash drawer to connect to your mobile application?  APG’s NetPRO is an ideal solution! In places such as gas stations, C-stores, quick service food and more, the Ethernet cash drawer communicates with mobile POS devices for normal drawer operation. This dynamic network device has a time and date stamp with every transaction, improving loss prevention functions by providing security camera activation, mobile alerts to store management for unusual events, remote tech support, asset management and much more. The NetPro is a separate option that works with APG’s cash drawers.
POSMaid is wonderful for a small business or Craft Show use. It is affordable and very functional. Allows for all monetary transactions and keeps tally. It is perfect for Entry level use. The inventory control is more than I expected.
Any near-dedicated photo printer should offer output quality suitable for a professional photographer’s exhibition prints, but you should obviously check to make sure. Keep in mind too that different people have different tastes, so choosing between two or more printers with superb, but slightly different, output may depend entirely on which one you like better.
