Laser printers will never reach the physical design level of inkjet printers because of the nature of the built-in technology. Being portable can be debatable because the most compact laser printer still packs over ten pounds in weight. There really is no standard weight and size for a portable laser printer. If one can move or carry a laser printer so easily and conveniently it becomes portable regardless of the size or weight.
Much has changed in the interim. A much wider range of printers now support AirPrint, printer manufacturers have stepped in to release their own, more fully featured iPhone printing apps, and third-party print apps have improved in functionality and in the range of printers they support. Though most iPhone printing requires that your iPhone be on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer, some printers now have their own email addresses, and will automatically print out documents and attachments you email to them, from anywhere in the world.
Some products utilize the keyboard shortcut ‘Ctrl + Alt + S’; the product information will appear after a short delay. If that doesn’t work, this information can also be found on your bar code stickers, typically located on the back of your product.
On elf my pet peeves is modern installation instructions! They are all line drawings with almost no words! I guess no one knows how to read any more. These are no exception. All they really cover, though is how to unpack the printer, install the print head and cartridges, plug it in and align the print head. To set it up for your computer or other device, you have to go to the canon website, and it is not a lot better as far as giving clear instructions.

As Wi-Fi is finding its way into more and more phones, Bluetooth printing has become less popular. Nevertheless, Bluetooth support is still a useful feature if you’ve got one of the many phones that don’t have Wi-Fi.
Epson’s WorkForce Wireless mobile printer continues to be a trailblazer in the best portable laser printers as it’s the smallest printer in the world. Besides being small and light, it has a built-in wireless and Wi-Fi direct that makes it easy for you to print for your smartphone, iPhone, iPad, tablet or laptop. It has both an AC adapter and a USB battery charging unit that gives the battery charging flexibility making it travel-friendly.
Connecting your printer with a USB cable limits mobility and access to your printer, not to mention the ugly cable running through your office. You can solve these problems by buying a wireless printer. Wireless printers come in two basic types: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is simple to set up and use but is more appropriate for small office spaces and a limited number of users while Wi-Fi takes a bit more to set up but can serve more users over a greater range.
Mac Address Filtering: It is assumed these measures will increase security, but this isn’t true. Enabling Mac address filtering and disabling broadcasting of the network name will make the setup and use of the wireless network more difficult.
Fewer cables in your home or office is a good thing. There are plenty of excellent printers that use Wi-Fi or other wireless technologies to streamline the printing process. Here are our current favorites.
Print through the HP Sprocket App with Bluetooth technology. Download the free HP Sprocket App to customize your photos before you print them. About the size of a cell phone, weighing around 6 ounces (170 grams), this portable printer goes anywhere.
* AirPrint works with Wi-Fi or wired network connections. AirPrint devices connected to the USB port of an Apple AirPort Base Station or AirPort Time Capsule, or to your computer using Bluetooth connection, can’t use AirPrint.
D) A full-featured Ethernet connection that would operate just like my HP 4050TN Laser printer, which has a built-in Ethernet connection. I have a home office with four computers and wanted everyone to be able to use both printers without my computer needing to be on to print.
The HP reprint app allows you to print from anywhere without necessarily relying on a network. You are able to save energy with the ENERGY STAR that it comes with. Its small design means that it takes up very little space on your table or anywhere else.
One thing that’s held people back from buying Wi-Fi printers is the perception that they may take a hit in speed. That’s occasionally true—a lot depends on the specifics of your Wi-Fi versus wired networks—but any time lost in data transfer is usually minimal compared with the total print time, particularly if the printer is proximate to your router. If speed is a concern, pick a Wi-Fi printer that also connects via Ethernet, just in case. (All printers offer at least USB 2.0 connectivity.)
Canon TS5020 printer w Power Cord, paperwork and software CD. The printer also scans, copies and supports a range of wireless options, including AirPrint. They do NOT take color as brilliantly as the Lucks Frosting Sheets do, and they don’t taste nearly as well, but their economics and applications hold their own.
Print Agent Pro for iPad ($5.99) http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/print-agent-pro-for-ipad/id421782942?mt=8 Print Agent Pro can print to many non-AirPrint and non-wireless printers on your network, even if they are only connected to a Mac or PC via USB.

For the overall print quality, I recommend this TS9120 if you take mostly landscape photos, and the TS9020 would be better if you take mostly people photos. You can also calibrate and adjust the color profile in the photo application and in the print settings, but these are the ideal uses for each model based on the default settings.
Wi-Fi enabled printers have a number of advantages, as once you connect your printer into your home network you can share it with the various devices in your home. It lets you print a business document from your bedroom, print a photo from your smart phone in the lounge, or print a birthday card made by your kids via the tablet in the kitchen.
1. Wireless printing and scanning requires a working network with wireless 802.11b/g /n/ac or ad capability. Wireless performance may vary based on terrain and distance between the printer and wireless network clients.

Connecting the HP OfficeJet 150 and HP tablet via Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that is primarily designed for use in mobile devices, such as mobile phones. Unlike Wi-Fi, Bluetooth is designed to be used over short distances — typically just a few metres. The benefit of Bluetooth is that it draws very little power, so it’s kind to your phone’s battery. It does, however, have some drawbacks, not least that Bluetooth connections are typically much slower than Wi-Fi connections.
With print speeds up to 22 pages per minute /ppm/ black and white and up to 18 ppm color, this printer is way ahead of the competition. Save ink and money our specially formulated inks are designed for efficiency.
This Bluetooth standard enables an automatic printer connection to an Android device with the HP ePrint app installed. Go to Connecting to printers with Bluetooth Smart for more information on setting up the connection.
Pros: Lightweight and compact. Two additional ink cartridges for higher-quality photos. Two paper input trays. SD card, Ethernet, and Bluetooth 4.0 support. Excellent print quality. Fast snapshot printing.
The second way to configure your printer is to use its wireless setup wizard. To use this you’ll need to know your Wi-Fi network’s name, as well as its password. The wizard will first perform a scan to find nearby networks. Then you select the name of your network from the list and enter its password. Once the password is entered correctly your printer should be available on your network. You’ll still have to install the driver software for your printer, however, on all the computers that are going to be used for printing. After that job is complete, you can start printing from anywhere in your home.
Prynt is a really compact and sleek iPhone photo printer ideal for Apple iPhone 6s, 6, and 7. With this device you can transform your phone into an instant camera, and you can watch the photo print out instantaneously. Furthermore, it prints on ZINK paper with ink already embedded into it, so you don’t need to worry about cartridge troubles.
Using the application, you can print web pages from within the browser, email attachments, and documents on your mobile device. The application can connect directly to printers that are Bluetooth-enabled, or they can connect through the home or office network.
We examined hundreds of sample documents, dozens printed with each device we reviewed. During our tests, we printed the same samples on each machine and compared their output quality, looking for frequency of printing errors such as spotting, streaking or bleeding. In addition, we compared the machines’ print resolution side by side.
Pros: Good print quality. Comprehensive, easy-to-use label design and print mobile app. Strong selection of label types in several color schemes, including fabric iron-on labels. Runs on AC or battery power. Good value for the price.
