StarIO facilitates developers in easily designing mobile applications without complicated communication control on diverse operating systems like Windows Mobile, Windows CE, iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod) and Android
I have e-mailed support twice since last Wednesday (rec’d no response to either message) and spent over an hour on the phone with support yesterday and nothing was resolved.   Next step is to stop using Square altogether, as we are a busy bar and asking customers to sign the iPad during peak service does not work in a busy setting.  We were about to start switching over the ten other businesses we own to Square, but obviously are no longer considering that. In short, Square sucks.
There are several options for using a Square card reader: it’s available as a standard magnetic stripe reader, as an magnetic stripe and EMV chip reader, or with an additional NFC payment reader (for tap and go payments, like Apple Pay). All Square devices are available from Square’s website.
So I like the stand and it would get a 5 star review, but I’m not exactly sure that I got a brand new item or not. The product came in the most amazing package, would remind you of Apple…but on the front of the stand frame around the ipad there are tiny scratches, it’s not smooth like you’d expect something brand new to be. Also the swipe part that actually runs the card through, the plastic is ill fitting. You can squeeze the back wall of this part and the plastic is bulging out at least 1mm or two and you can see it’s not sitting flush with the rest of the stand…The seams should be spot on like they are with the rest of the stand…but they’re not. Would love to exchange it and give another stand a try, maybe I just got a funky one?

Bottom Line: Upgrading from McAfee Internet Security to McAfee Total Protection gets you a file encryption utility and extra licenses for the password manager. Unless you need those features, you may be better off with McAfee AntiVirus Plus.
Atm it’s cheaper for me to use something else other than square, than to change the printer tablet setup. It appears other people have similar issues. Square managment need to grasp the economics here of only catering to a small hardware segment(Star printers) of the market, while marketing themselves as a simple DIY eftpos POS for small businesses, who burn themselves on compatability issues. Hopefully Square can solve this issue.

Available with a variety of interfaces and cutting methods, the TM-U220 is a solid investment.

iPad POS systems are feature-rich, affordable and easy to and use, but printing receipts from an Apple POS system can present a challenge for merchants. Although Apple offers its AirPrint® technology, which allows users to print photos and documents from any iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, AirPrint wasn’t available for receipt printers.

Pros: Portable. Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and USB connectivity. Rechargeable battery. 50-sheet input tray. Output quality better than many desktop inkjets. High claimed page yields for print cartridges. Prints from USB thumb drives. Lighter than its predecessor. Fast photo printing.
But my point is that an adding machine paper-receipt looks unprofessional in some businesses.  An inexpensive ink jet or better, a multitasking network office printer that is already in use would make a LOT more sense for me.  I’m sure they are robust and work fine, they just don’t suit my business and I don’t like being so limited in the TYPE of printer I can use.
The entire unit faces you to enter the information and then rotates 180 degrees and locks in place to face your client to swipe their card and sign the screen with a finger. The device can swipe a card in either direction, as there are two sensor heads, one on each side of the card slot. The card slot is much easier to use and reads more reliably than the small square device made for phones.
The tablet is taking over the digital signage and Kiosk industry. You can also use it as a Tablet POS(Point Of Sale) stand. There are 3 major functions – auto play slideshow, loop play video show, web…
I bought his to use with my ipad and square point of sale system when I occasionally do craft shows. So far so good. I wish it automatically connected with Square when I open the app but I have to connect under setting- my only complaint. Other than that it performs nicely, is very light and compact and reliably prints a decent easy to read receipt.
The TSP143III offers three forms of connecting to you POS system. Choose from LAN, WLAN or Bluetooth. The Ethernet version for LAN connectivity is plug-and-play and requires no special setup. The WLAN (or wireless LAN) now uses a revolutionary “Push’n’Connect” WPS setup for easy setup and supports 801.11b/g/n with 2.4GHz for speed and reliability. Finally, the Bluetooth version uses a Bluetooth paring connection much like you would find on a new car for your phone. So no matter which solution your POS system requires, you will be up and running in no time.
I’m not sure why there are so many mixed up reviews and answers to the questions. I have two iPad without a square stand. This easily connected to my cash drawer and WiFi router. BOTH iPads are connected to the receipt printer and BOTH can print at the same time as well as open up my cash drawer. The receipt are thick enough to read and make orders off of and the font size is nice. If you take orders with your iPad but do not have a square stand and need a printer that will connect to multiply iPads this is what you are looking for!!

Many companies selling hardware such as printers are becoming more and more conscious of the impact their products have on the environment, particularly in terms of power consumption, but there are other factors to consider. If you are thinking of using your regular inkjet or laser printer to print sales receipts for your customers  instead of investing in a receipt printer, consider this…
Bluetooth Nightmare. I shelled out a bunch of cash to be able to use the Bluetooth printer with my iPAD/Square Register system. Initially it was a pain in the neck to connect to and it would randomly drop the connection. After a couple months the printer stopped connecting. Very disappointed in this product. When you pay $400 plus for a printer you should expect it to work as it is stated. I would not recommend by this product. You will be embarrassed in front of your customer when the printer fails you. It could severely impact your reputation and business when your less experience techy people are trying to reconnect the printer and you will be sadly disappointed in a couple months when it finally fails to connect just like the other reviews stated.

The SM-S230i is suitable for a wide range of mobile printing applications with no configuration changes required when switching between various operating systems. The clerk will be able to use the SM-S230i with an iOS, Android or Windows device with no set up required using its auto detection Bluetooth feature.
Bottom Line: The Epson PictureMate PM-400 Personal Photo Lab prints high-quality photos at up to 5 by 7 inches, but the cost of even 4-by-6 photos is higher than with Epson’s 4-by-6 dedicated photo print…
