Any near-dedicated photo printer should offer output quality suitable for a professional photographer’s exhibition prints, but you should obviously check to make sure. Keep in mind too that different people have different tastes, so choosing between two or more printers with superb, but slightly different, output may depend entirely on which one you like better.
I have e-mailed support twice since last Wednesday (rec’d no response to either message) and spent over an hour on the phone with support yesterday and nothing was resolved.   Next step is to stop using Square altogether, as we are a busy bar and asking customers to sign the iPad during peak service does not work in a busy setting.  We were about to start switching over the ten other businesses we own to Square, but obviously are no longer considering that. In short, Square sucks.

kWh = 195(This is if you printed 12 hours per day and left the printer idle for 12 hours a day for 365 days a year. Even if you printed continuously for 24 hours per day, 365 days a year you would use 333 kWh per year, which is still way less than a new inkjet printer.)
The Star SP742 combines ease of use, high speed, reliability, an auto-cutter and a compact footprint to provide a value-driven solution. The SP742 is a printer made of a proven technology (Impact Dot matrix) with all the tools that allow you to use it with the latest PC hardware and still using legacy POS software. The SP742 features a swappable communication interface that allows you to upgrade the printer at any time to support USB or Ethernet.

Star Cloud has the unique ability to transform shopping receipts into valuable digital transaction data. Data Facilitation allows retailers to transport that digital receipt data to third party partners or vendors who can offer a wide range of analytic  and shopper engagement services, such as loyalty programs. Through these services, retailers can gain unparalleled information about what, where and when shoppers buy to ultimately increase ROI.
POS printers and accessories allow you to enhance the functionality of your existing point-of-sale hardware. These devices add the ability to display pricing to your customers or create a printed receipt for each transaction. This promotes solid customer service experiences.
The TSP100III, Star’s faster, easier, and better solution for receipt printing, provides a perfect printer for point of sale. With WLAN, LAN, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity options, the printer can be operated in any POS location. The TSP100III features high-speed printing of 43 receipts per minute, “drop-in and print” paper loading, and a receipt de-curl mechanism to print smooth and flat receipts.
The Star thermal receipt printer uses futurePRNT software to dramatically reduce the amount of receipt paper you use. You can trim receipts vertically or horizontally without interfering with your original software setup. The partial cut auto cutter of this POS receipt printer achieves a 3mm top margin, thus saving 8mm of paper with each receipt. On-demand receipt printing feature gives you the option of not printing a receipt if the customer declines one. (Regional laws vary.)
Printouts created using POS printers may include the business name, contact number, and address. This makes it easy for shoppers to remember where they bought items and return there for similar goods, providing an excellent marketing opportunity. Many POS printers also offer reverse-side printing, letting you add coupons or valuable tips and store policies to the back of each receipt.

The TSP143III is shipped with auto-connect enabled by default. This means that a paired printer will connect automatically whenever it’s turned on and within range of the iPad it has been paired with.
Got this so I could print receipts for my customers paying in person with a card, chip or smartphone. I use PayPal Now with an Android tablet and PayPal card reader. The printer was easy to set up and works very well. The only thing I have not been able to do is print my company logo at the top of the slip. However, the company name, address, phone number, and email prints. I think this is a function, and thus a problem of PayPal, not the printer. So I’m not blaming the printer at all. However, it would be nice to have my logo on the receipt and the ability to print a coupon or something too.
If you own a food-truck, this is perfect for you. It’s been a life saver! No more need for buying ticket books and writing down orders. When you pair this with Square, it’s a match made in heaven. The battery lasts for about 8 hours on a single charge. And in case of emergency, a 1 hour charge will last about 4 hours.

This feature eliminates frustration caused from changing your settings when using devices with different operating systems. With an additional convenient connection option for USB 2.0, the SM-S230i can send fast transfer speeds of data and provide security with an easy plug-in USB cable.

This latest addition to the TSP100 Series provides a range of new features including a high print speed of 250mm/second, a guillotine auto cutter (cutter life 2 million cuts) as well as thin paper capability providing benefits not only for the environment but also the user’s operating costs.
An entry-level Ethernet version of the popular TSP100 futurePRNT printer. Ethernet is the connection method of choice for hospitality and retail environments requiring fast, long distance, reliable communication. However, this extremely flexible choice of connection has always come at a cost. This is no longer the case, the TSP143LAN is the world’s first dedicated Ethernet receipt printer available at virtually entry-level pricing.
Modern POS printers often feature speeds measured in inches per second, and these high-quality versions provide fast operation. They may also bear an indication of the mean time between failures, letting you know just how long you can expect the printer to provide excellent service and continued operation. These MTBF ratings can easily range into the hundreds of thousands of hours between service calls, delivering exceptional reliability.
Other Thoughts: One improvement to make it even more portable, would be to have a completely wireless model which would recharge, rather than needing to be plugged into mains. When selling at outdoor events, I do not always have access to a power outlet. My Point-of-sale equipment has battery life enough to get me through a whole day without a recharge, so it would be nice if my receipt printer could do the same.

Printers didn’t function properly. I returned them within the 30 day window and I was charged a 50% restocking fee for the item not being new anymore. I’m not sure how I could tell if the item was functioning properly while it sits in the box, but it’s been a terrible experience for me. Would not recommend.
